Earthworks in Progress atSecuricor Site On behalf of Patton Group, CON-FORM implemented a ground solution package to support the development of a Coin Distribution Centre for Securicor.

The package encompassed excavation, earthworks, stabilisation, Rolling Dynamic Compaction and pavement construction. The appointment of CON-FORM also provided Patton's with a single point of contact across the site.

The site consisted of 3 - 4 meters of made ground. Geo-technical studies had identified that it was not suitable for supporting ground bearing slabs without the application of ground improvement solutions.

Lime Stabilisation of Site Won MaterialsThe design criteria for the building ground floor area called for an engineered ground with a capacity in excess of 55kN/m2.

This was accomplished by lime stabilisation of the made ground and the application of Rolling Dynamic Compaction over the footprint of the building to support the construction of a ground bearing floor slab.

For the HGV, car park and entrance areas, CON-FORM constructed a stabilised layer to provide a 30% CBR.

A temporary layer of stone was placed on top of the stabilised layer as a working surface during the construction phase. This was then stabilised in-situ into a CBM layer and then overlaid with Enviro-Pave®, CON-FORM's environmentally friendly pavement surface.

Rolling Dynamic Compaction at Securicor Coin Distribution Centre SiteKey Benefits of the CON-FORM Solution

  • Savings in both cost and time to implement, versus more traditional approaches.
  • The environmentally friendly processes used reduced vehicle movements through reduction in materials sent off-site.
  • Reduced requirement for imported stone.
  • Single point of contact for main contractor for the enabling works package.
